ok i know there are threads about this already but...
i have ve ssv rims that i am going to put on a vz. i know the inside lip in the centre of the rim needs to be machined to fit but i have just talked to a wheel shop and they are telling me that they plug then re-drill the stud holes as the ve has larger studs.
has anyone got these on their cars without changing the stud hole size..becuase its an expensive excersice!
You are right, centre bore is 69.5 on VB-VZ and 66.9 on VE so you have to drill it out to match
I cant see why you would plug and redrill the holes as you should be able to find wheel nuts that are 12mm instead of 14mm with the angle to suit. Also they dont plug and redrill, they make the hole bigger then put a sleeve in and redrill that so I think he may be incorrect. Eitherway, the wheel is centred by the centre hub not the studs, they just hold it tight on the hub and redrilling is illegal.
Seriously do a search. This has been covered so many times before. At least 1 thread a week about these damn VE wheels.
Thanks for the advice shiftySLE.
Sowwy hamatime... just cause u want a decent ride..haha
should be the same stud patten just VE's have larger studs, could you fit the larger studs to your hub rather then trying to mod the wheels?
