how hard would it be to build a open wheeler dirt circuit car?
i would stay cheap and use a holden v6 or v8 or a rb30 as these engines and parts are easily found.
a whole vehicle woul be best and sell the spares left over.
any informtion would help.
So are you basically going to build a buggy around a holden engine? Or strip down a holden to a basic frame?
Open wheeler.. Unless there is some sort of rule that i completely unaware of, that is possibly the worst way to go about the diff.
I would say a dirt circuit car almost certainly needs an exceptionally tight LSD or locker. Mechanical 2way would do wonders as an LSD. Not the cheapest option though.
Pay someone to weld the diff for you, will cost you around $50 to $80 if you go to the right people. It also wont break if it is done right, the axles will let go way before the centre.
I think by open wheeler he means no fenders or guards shrouding the wheels, like a buggy type setup.
