Traction Control/Engine Light problem

G'Day guys, I 'm having a little problem and the search button dosen't seem to be throwing up any answers, I have a VTII SS 5.7 and every now and then my traction control light turns itself on and as soon as that happens my auto box struggles to change from 2nd into 3rd and just today my engine warning light flickered on for a few seconds and then off again. This only happens when I've been driving for a while so eveything is up to temp,all fluid levels are fine.

Does anyone have a suggestion or is it my dumb luck that something expensive is about to break?
