Hi every one,
I reasontly got a window tint done at express tinting at sandgate rd virginia in brisbane.
It was a 3M tint film, nothing wrong with the film.
He did a realy bad job when installing. it came with a life time warrenty so i took it back. and i was nice/ calm and patiant with him but he was arrogant and disrepectfull when i pointed out the bad workmenship. I went with my kid too. that guy has no social skills. he said that he gets many cars for tinting so he does not really care. the tint has bubbles and stuff stuck between the window and tint. he said the tint does not work well on commodores because thay have dots alond the window edge but the bubbles are around the mid area. he is bulshitting and he said that commodores are shit too. what a load of rubbish ha.
can i make a complaint to 3M because he is a licenced installer?
and also can i take it to a nother 3M installer for as a warrenty job?
Guys do, not i repeat ,do not go to express tinting at virginia/ brisbane and let every one know - thanks.
call him up and tell him that if he doesnt re-do it youre going to make an official complaint to 3M
thanks for the advice mate.
send the business a written or types letter by registered mail. Make sure you request notification of delivery, that way you know he has the letter.
Outline the issues with the tint job only, and request that it be rectified under warrantee. Leave out that you went to see him and he was rude etc, also dont mention the business, only that the tint is floored.
Note that you will be contacting 3M for advice to further improve your satisfaction with there installers.
Short of pulling out the fair trading act blah blah blah which im sure he will ignore, there isnt much you can do.
thanks for the input.
if the guy was rude to me, i would just lose it and hit the hairy ball sack. lol what an 4%shole
cos that'd fix hte problem... brains.
OP, keep cool on it. As mentioned write a letter. When all else fails contact 3M then give consumer affairs a go. No point making any threats, let them think they can be arseholes then let consumer affairs deal with it.
If you happen to be granted replacement, try and get it done by a different installer. Hate to think how much he could screw on the car in the heat of a re-tint induced rage.
thanks very much for your input .
yep lodge a complaint with the ACCC.
Contacting 3M is pretty much a waste of time unless the guy is a 3M distributor (doubt it).
you do get little air dots around the edges on some commodores.if there was a problem i think they would fix it.ive had may cars tinted at that store good job the guy drives a ss dont think he would call them shit .go see some other tint shop see what they say .
From what I have been recommended previously with these sort of situations is basically what the other person wrote, Write a formal letter outlining the issue, and also contact 3M and the ACCC and see what they can do, will probably be a lengthy ordeal, but i guess the 3M HR/Service department will act more than the ACCC.
express tinting will have a head office mate. write them an offcial letter with pics and details , ie comments made by installer of tint and demand action be taken to rectify problems, send 3m the same letter and state that express tinting have recieved the same complaint..
good luck with that mate. so annoying when you get jibbed ant it.
Is that the one with the big sign saying "$99 tint"?
Talking to the guy wont do anything and the ACCC is a toothless tiger.
It'll be worth talking to some higher ups. This is the person listed as owning the ExpressTinting.com.au domain:
Michelle Buchanan
michelle [at] expresstinting.com.au
The business registered on the domain are:
Express Sales & Marketing Pty Ltd
GRESHAM GARDENS U 29 U 29/30 WELLER RD
TARRAGINDI
QLD, 4121
However, this may only be the marketing arm of the setup and not the head office. With a name like "Express Sales" im pretty sure it isnt a company they outsourced the marketing to. Perhaps ask them how to get in contact with the head office first and not show your hand yet.
When do you do complain, take photos of the poor job and tell them how it makes you lose confidence in their band. Dont mention the rudeness of that guy otherwise it just seems like revenge tactics.
I'd go ACC, more likely to take it up properly in opinion, they might just fob off any customer that makes a complaint, but they cant fob off the acc (this is what i have found from past experience)
Cheers.
