Hi a lot of my friends have had work done to there car one of them has there VT at 290RWKw but I asked him about it do you get faster Acceleration from all that work and he said that he got a bit but a lot of the power is wasted.
Anyway I am looking to get some work done to my car late this year or early next year when the ECU software hopefully comes out i hope it does (for an 08 SV6)
anyway what I am looking for is faster Acceleration so any power gains i get is not wasted so what i want to know is what is the best way to get faster Acceleration? my friend told me about getting a Cam upgrade is that right? and can it be done for an SV6?
There are alot of things you can do for more power. Depends how much you wanna spend. Best bang for buck power is a supercharger.

if you wanted power, why buy a 6 to start with?
Yeah thanks its i just worry that i could spend all that money like my friend and have all that power wasted he has about 290rwKW but the car is not a whole lot faster than the stock car and i don't see the point of that power if you can't use it. whats the best way so it does not wast the power gains?
Thanks
i know an old bloke at work who has a vz ss and he got something that replaces the accelerator button behind the accelerator. and he said it is 100 times better and not sluggish off the start and is defently better.
its supose to improve acceleration by 10% , it replaces the old button behind the accelerator. the old 1s are made to have a slow start unlike the old vn"s with the cable for the accelerator. the button overides the old signal and sends a new signal to the engine.
they were for sale on ebay recently but cant find them on there anymore. there is a website for them and they make them for nearlly every type of car there is but i cant remember the name atm.
cut a hole in the floor and push the pedal harder...

4:11 diif gears and it'll be the quickest off the line and u'll never get caught speeding in excess on the highway
A stock LS1 will chew less fuel than a modified V6 most likely. Depending what mods are done to the V6 of course.
V8's only chew through fuel if they are HEAVILY modified, or you drive it foot to the floor everyday. I barely use half a tank a week in my Senator and it's got exhaust, air intake, dyno tune etc etc.

. leaving traction control on, which will cut power when u start spinning. no good
. normally installing taller diff gears will get u quicker off the line, but with that much power its gonna be easier to get them breaking traction rather than putting power down. no good
. installing shorter gears will let you get the power down, but it'll take more effort to turn the wheels, essentially making less power. no good.
see where this is going?
get wider, bigger profiled tyres and let some air out of them so they have a bit of flex n run say 15-17 inch tyres. this will be the most effective way of getting all that power to the bituman
