    Default newbie dropping in

    gidday from new zealand.
Im Jase, im 17 and i have brought myself a 1988 toyota hilux surf with a series 2 vn commy engine.
the engines making a few weird noises, but the old owner put it thru hell and back so the next project will be putting a new low milage v6 in there.
iv been doing a little research and i found a post on another form about removing a spacer or something from the intake manifold, where is this spacer?

just fort i would introduce myself and tell ya what ive got and what im wanting to do with it.

    Cheers

    Jase

Just leave the bellmouth in, as has been said on here heaps of times, removing it does **** all, it's there for a reason, to evenly distribute air to all 6 cylinders, removing it will lean out the 2 rear cylinders.

I didn't think a Buick V6 would be any good in a Hilux Surf, didn't they come out with turbo diesel engines?

just check the idler pully's for dry bearings, thats where most noise comes from.
Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.
Even in our sleep we happen to be right.

some of thee surfs came out with 2.4tds some came out with 2l and 2.4 petrol's. but this one has had a v6 buick transplant, they are supoes to be one of the best splants for the surfs.

the noise is more of a ticking noise. then wen it warms up it gets worse.
