There's probably gonna be a lot of "How come my mate got pulled up for ____ but let off, and i got done for ____ which isn't as bad as my mate did"'s in this thread...

An idle curiosity; Regardless of whether it's revenue raising or not.. Why are speed cameras/traps on country roads, rather than highways or city roads where there are more drivers, more risk, and more idiots?

I will be disregarding those posts because they are useless and im sure some people actually have serious questions to ask.

From personal experience I'd say its because people on country roads think that there is no way there will be a cop there and are safe to speed as a result.

There are more police patrolling highways as well

Do they still get half-price or free Maccas.

What air freshener to they use in patrol cars and is there an OHS compliance as to doing so.

Do they think Puff-Daddy was a cooler rapper name than P-Diddy.

If a random bloke in a commodore had police shirts in the car would they think he was weird or pretty normal.

Is their glass half empty or half full.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

Tell that to the speed camera i have seen at least 4 times in the past 4 weeks around the corner from my place. Sharps Road Tullamarine, seems to be a popular spot.

Also spotted a few around the Keilor Downs area in the past few weeks.

Also passed one on the side of the Western Ring Rd today, there's plenty out in force from what i can see. Driving country roads i dont see as many speed cameras, i guess it depends on where you drive. But there is the mentality that out of metro melbourne it's harder to get caught doing the wrong thing!

Granted, But i would've thought that the larger population density would herald a greater risk than a few hoons in VS's seeing if their 6 will hit 200. I would've thought they'd be protecting more people by policing the city, than they would be by policing the country. That's what their prerogative is after all, right? FYI I have no problem with police or the law (I learned my lesson the hard way), I just thought resources could be used better.

And what happened to you studying anyway, Philthy?

when you first meet the chap or chapet say hello **** **** **** **** constable sorry i have a stutter. joke.
ask what makes them want to get out of bed and do what they do like what drives them to go and see all the ****ed up stuff they see etc and how does it affect them having to see all the ****ed up shit like people killing them selves and people splattered all over the road and all the nasty things that they see daily and how do they cope having to tell young kids parents that there child has been killed etc.
i am curious to know i could not bring my selfto do it with out looseing sleep.

Is the current gov't doing enough to guarantee the safety of the police force?

Do you (the cop that is) feel safe in his job?

Do you specifically target a certain type of driver? i.e. race or gender, age

Not from the ones I've talked to, but they have all been quite open about the fact that they "keep a closer eye on" certain types of cars. They would be stupid not to

I have a question for them and its a serious question, Whats the difference with bendigo's police attitudes to book every driving offence under the hoon law act. When other towns/cities police wouldnt list it as a hoon offence, Bendigo police hoon law every driving offence... hence hoon capital status.

And a non serious question... Have all the bendigo police force lost there licenses for drink driving is that why theyre all riding pushbikes around in groups. Cyclists are bad enough when there 3 abreast riding, but when theyre coppers you cant even abuse them.

Thats because Sharps Rd is a race track,as was your street until the speed humps went in.
