Default What would be best for next purchase?

Hey everyone, bit sick of my car performance wise.. want to make it a bit better in any or all ways For <$500 what would could i buy to get a noticable difference in performance?

My thoughts are: (one of these things)
Camber kit.. have bad camber and always lose traction, so cant corner fast
    Extractors .. have catback already
    LSD (second hand)
    High ratio rockers/manifold insulator
    Short Shifter (have getrag box)
    VT twin piston front brakes
    strut brace
    new tyres

What do you guys think would be the best increase in performance?
    Cheers.

I depends what you want in regards to 'performance'. Do you want better handling, engine, sound, cosmetics? $500 doesn't go far so you need to narrow down what area of your car you want to improve.

    Sorry bout that mate,
any performance in handling/engine. dont care about looks sound cosmetics or anything at this stage, just want it to handle better and go quicker
i'm thinking camber kit would help, cus i have 235 wide tyres but alot alot of camber which ruins cornering.

Really? its just cus of the camber i have shit all tyre on the ground, well alot less than if i had no camber.
also mate, what ratio should i be looking at? do a fair bit of highway. cus its manual i think it has a 3.45 single spinner at the moment.

you wont really get 'shit hot' performance out of the 6 without spending a fair bit of money on it, ide be more inclined to head towards the handling side of performance

MACE just reuse the stock ones and mod them, yella terra make theres from scratch

go either the 1.9.1 or the 1.95.1 yella terra ones

I'm thinking that too mate, do you think a camber kit would make a bit of difference and some better tyres? Strut brace?
    Cheers.

I'm not that knowledgeable on diff ratio's but from what i understand 3.45 should be fine for highway usage

camber kit will improve your tyre wear....strut brace will stiffen up the strut towers to stop flex when cornering....lower springs and better struts and shocks will stiffen the ride....if you want cornering then you will need to upgrade the sway bars....30mm front and 20mm back pedders will do the trick and are about the $500 mark for both

Cheers for that mate, apparently i have FE2 sway bars.. if thats any help haha. i have better shocks/lowered springs in back, fe2 in front and whiteline link pins too.
Thinking i will save for the camber kit so i have more than half a tyre on the ground

springs and struts (or just springs) will get you better handling, a strut brace arguable, ive had them on both my VXs and i think they might make a diff, if anything they stiffen it up a bit so u have a few less creeks and rattles.

ive never really seen anyone swapping sway bars but with a decent set of springs u wont have much roll anyway so sway bars IMHO arent proberbly worth the money, i had super lows in my old vx ass and pedders 6412 in the front and it was awesome on the road.

camber kit, depends how low you go, ive never had one although i should have in my old vx for scrubbing tyres, i doubt they make much handling difference.

And definatly a short shifter, the throw on the stock v6 stick is just urghhhh, give it a racey feel even if it is only an ecotec

springs, strut brace and a shortshifter u should get all for round the 500-550 mark

lame, after all that i didnt read that you had springs and struts, doh lol

um well in that case, ide still go the short stick and strut brace at least, maybe a camber kit but u wont have change for 500 for those 3

Just be careful as there's two camber kits available I think (please correct me if I'm wrong guys). There's a cheaper one, which sounds like the one you got a price on. Apparently it doesn't do anything but lighten your pockets. There's a better quality one which has more adjustment about double that price. It still won't fix the camber issue completely but will help. Installing a camber kit won't give you any better traction, just help with tyre scrub.

oh okay cheers mate i'll check that out. why wont it help with traction? I only have around half of a 235 wide tyre on the road at the moment, wouldnt more tyre on the road provide more traction?
    Thanks.

Beg to differ here....My SS had FE2 with 26mm fr and 17mm rr swaybars....fitted ssl fr and sssl rr with kyb struts and shocks....car handled well but i was never really happy....fitted the 30mm fr and 20mm rr pedders swaybars and now it turns and corners like on rails....

Per the Whiteline catalogue an increase from 26mm fr to 30mm gives an approx increase of 77%. And from 17mm rr to 20mm gives an approx increase of 92%. They use a totally different type of steel for their bars over the OEM so its not just size but quality of product.
Dont write off a pair of swaybars as insignificant.
