Hi Guys,
Today while I was at work sum idiot desided to paint the building infront of where I parked in a howling gale. And know I've got little white paint dots all over my car.I've tried washing her but their still there, it's really getting at me! Does anyone have any ideas to get it off? Cheers Mike

To say that you'd be p'd off is quite an understatement, I know how I'd be if I were in your position. You have a go at the guy? Surely some fore-thought to allow you to put a tarp up or something. If there were a smiley face for a shaking head, I'd use that right here.
my sis ran over a puddle of paint and it covered her whole car....what we did is use metho and rub it on them and with a little work they rub off. Why dont u hit up the company for a new paint job?
Is this a clay bar type situation? I got a freebie a while ago that i'll use when the car is finished so i dunno how they go but i'd like to think it'd tidy things up again.
Hope you ripped the guy a new one.....
Yeh, Only problem was I didn't see it happen.I know who it was, he's been painting the inside for a few weeks now and must have moved to the outside today. And he doesn't work for a company just by himself. Really hacked me off. And I have a fake silver pin stripe thing down the side of my car its like a sticker or something and im worryed if I use metho it will make it peal? (See pic for the stripe; note this isn't with the paint on)
I know your pain, I had a dick head painter wash his rollers out near my ute. White paint on a black car does NOT look good. He got the whole left hand side, the bonnet and whole front and I spent about 12 hours rubbing each individual spot off (not each obviously). There was still paint there 18 months later when I sold it.
Oh.. to help answer the question... I just used warm water, a sponge, patience and beer.
Yeh it's a bummer, especially when im trying to sell her.
get some overspray clay n jus use soapy water and the clay should cum off jus be careful with ur pinstripe or you can get some prepsole mite get it off depends how long its been there
the metho wont make ur paint prrl if u was it all off after ur done
heavy duty claybar.
wat about prepsol?

I wouldnt use prepsol on your car, especially if it is an acrylic paint job, the problem is prepsol might work, but the concentrated effort of rubbing at small spots with solvent might wear off your paint as well.
If you talk to a profesional detailer they might suggest something like a 2500 grit wet/dry sand followed by a proper cut and polish+wax (i'd pay them to do it, if you have a clearcoat they wont go through it, you might)
Also in regards to metho or soapy water or what ever to cleanit with, it depends on two things.
1. the surface, if the surface has a good coat of wax on it, the paint will bond to the wax and wash off a bit easier, providing the solvents in the paint are not heavily active solvents which would eat through the wax before drying.
2. the type of paint, the main thing to brake down in paint with solvent is the resin, some resins brake down with certain solvents but not others.
Talk to the bloke who did it and ask him what type of paint it is, and if you can have a look at the can, explain the situation and if he has any decency he will help you clean it.
If your unsure post back here with whatever info you can and i'll do my best to help you, I manufacture paint for a living and can always ask a chemist as well.
TMM's suggestion of a claybar is a good one too, the industrial area I work in has allot of crap falling out of the sky, allot of it sticks to our cars, my boss owns a BA Typhoon thingo and he cleaned it up with a claybar.
what a @#%$ id be holding him responsible for either the cleaning or repainting of your car.
shhh now PUPPET
I'd be giving it a good scrub.........................with his face!

Yeh it's anoying cause I just used a clay bar at the beginig of the week and waxed it ect. Spent like 5-6hours on it. Complete waste of time nowcan't wait till the weekend so I can really have a go at it. Gona try the clay bar first and see how it goes

Why arent you chasing the person responsible?? high grit sand paper will do the trick. you can even try using a blade to scratch them off carefully, depending on how large the area is
Yeh been keeping an eye out for him but havn't seen him or his car.
clay bar should get them off if its got a nice fresh coat of wax on it. The paint should only be stuck to the wax not the clear coat.
