    Default Convertible Camaros (or Transformers?)

Down at Holden i managed to spy a few nice things today, one of which i was able to get pics of (well, more like NINE since i was no longer in the no camera area):

Under the big watchful eye of the Holden logo

You wont see them on the road for a while, but theyre on their way. I felt like such a kid in a candy store today

What do people think of the new soft top camaros?

I dont thin kwe will be seeing them on our roads at all - last i heard anyway.
They are only here for testing/mule work AFAIK.

We were going to get the Camaro and Challenger amongst a few other s but the GFC has killed off all of that.

davway, i assume you have heard wrong. These prototypes have just been produced (as in they have just been completed within the last 4 weeks). They're all left hand drive! There's 8 tan top convertibles and one black top (towards the far end). If Holden didn't see any point in producing them, why would they have continued the program and produced these prototypes?

If they were all right hand american drive vehicles then i would say yes, they're for a test or mule work, but since they're left hand drive money has been poured into them recently. Release date for the convertibles is said to have been pushed back to Second quarter of 2011 if you believe Holden, however these vehicles are all in driveable state, so it's anyone's guess as to how long it will actually be.

Holden are still working on many big projects, that's what i was informed of today. Many things from today's discussions i can't discuss though, so before anyone asks just dont! I wont answer them.

Last I checked, Aus = RHD and USA = LHD. Camaro for Aus has been canned for the foreseeable future.

Each to their own. I dont really like the tan colours on the silver, looks out of place.

Sorry, my bad, i say sides looking from the front of the vehicle (like when doing wheel alignments). Anyways, they're Right Hand Drive (Australian sided vehicles). They're canned? Yet they're still being produced and worked on?

As above, and as for uniform, no uniform needed, just a suit.

LMFAO, not buying. No-one talks about the drive like that. If they say left hand drive, the mean the steering wheel is on the left.

You have two options then, believe me, or look in the windscreen on the one closest to camera and have a look if you can see the steering wheel in the "LHS" of the vehicle (Still feels weird to me labelling it from the rear of the vehicle like this).

The real question (apart from "Alien, don't you have a freaking job or something to keep you occupied you bloody weirdo?!") is why do the two closest ones have disabled parking permits on the windscreen??

bingo they believe testing them here is better as the roads here are considered more harsh Chrysler dose the same they use the great alpine rd as a test area as well between bruthen and mt hothom

The Camaro was engineered in Aus on the Commodores Zeta platform. No surprise they are floating around pt Melbourne. Heck, I saw a G8 today in Parkdale and that has been discontinued!..

Actually, i do have things to keep me busy. I have two jobs and attend uni full time.

As for the two closest ones, that's a good pickup, i didn't notice that in the pics before. They're not disabled permits, they're actually green L's and are used to designate the "LHD's". They are the only two with them on them, and i didn't notice them before, but they are LHD's and the other 7 are RHD's. So yea, sorry about that, they're not all RHD's as previously advised. Two are still LHD's. Possibly to keep the feel of what they feel like from overseas. But not too sure, would have to ask that one to an engineer next time.

Are the two attached pics exactly the same? Are the other amazing pics you took the same? I think I'm missing some exciting point about the two pics just now...

Hokay - just to clear up the LHD/RHD question.....

When you are sitting at the steering wheel ready to mash the loud pedal and make the paper, are you sitting on the right or left of the center console??? On the right like 99+% of Aust registered cars??? You are driving a RHD car sunshine. On the left??? LHD.
