Talk to some taxi drivers that already use em.Most should already have a few hundred thousand kilometers on them already.

Don't the new VE's have random electronic issues, something to do with the wiring on them, which could cause all sorts of problems and error codes. Or has that been fixed in the newer models.

well i heard that the rear shocks need replacing after a while the passengers start to feel a bit ill

AFAIK the battery drain issue is the biggest electronic issue with them but would not be a problem on a TAXI as they are not switched off for long periods of time.

I have done over 150,000km in VE's (V8 though) and had a problem with the dash lights early on the first one. It was fixed with a new module in the center stack. The MY09 I have now is up to nearly 60,000km and has not been back to the dealer once.

For a taxi - probably a SIDI motor would be great - don't know if they are available with factory gas yet. If not, get a runout older one if there are any taxi packs left.
