Anyone on here use their cars for club sprints, hillclimbs etc?

I was interested to find out about suspension set ups, brake options, diff ratios and centres.

I am inheriting a VS exec from the family, that is either going to the wreckers or a track.
Its an auto V6 but I thought with a bit of work I can track race it, have a bit of fun & learn how to drive. I plan on simple mods but will get good suspension (have used Bilsteins on everything I have owned) and brakes, VT or VE.
Whats required to use the VE brakes?
The motor can stay till it dies and will only see a few simple bolt on mods. CAI, exhaust & maybe some rockers.
I would like to keep the auto till the motor dies but will get a cooler & shift kit, can the autos handle high engine braking loads and manual shifting?

Anybody like to add any info?
