that's copied directly from my unregistered vehicle permit - i bolded ' E ' because i would say that yours is a special circumstance. and points ' C ' and ' D ' are useless for your situation as they refer to worksites.
hope that helps mate.
Keep in mind
Buy the time you pay the permit, petrol cost, hassle of getting there?
Its a cheaper option to call carways in canberra or nsw to bring it down for you.I bought a prelude last year and it cost $265 they picked it up from the door of the sellers house and dropped it off to their altona depot in melbourne. There are a few more depots in melbourne, might be one closer to your place.
Also it clearly states engineer requires 10mm plates to be welded on underbody??
Obviously the cars chasis strength is an issue.
Id say dont risk driving it and get a car carrier to pick it up.
Sometimes the shortcuts could be more costly in the end,Also whats to say the car drives smooth and is reliable on a 8 hour trip on a freeway?
I believe you should have a rethink on the drive back issue and good luck with it,If you end up buying it no doubt it will be a unique car.
UVPs are valid in all States and Territories except Western Australia
I would get one from NSW RTA and then go to NSW and get it. You don't need a VIC permit. According to RTA NSW.
Also VICROADS state that you don't need a VICROADS permit if you start your journey in another state and finish in Victoria.
thanks guys but i aint buying it now cheers for all your help
You can get a permit from either where youre taking the car to or where youre going I believe. But its only valid until you get there. As I got a permit from ACT to Sydney before and got antoher permit in ACT to pick a car up from newcastle
