if you want manual, you cant get a calais. pretty sure all calais are auto??? unless someone has swapped the trans.

to be honest though, an AUTO with a stage 2 shift kit would be just as fun as a manual, if not more.

Honestly mate you are going to hear 1000's of different opinions on here, just go out and find something YOU like.

    cheers

    Well....

I jumped in my VX SS with about 2 weeks of manual driving experience (this experience was 3-4 years ago when I first started driving). I just took it real slow untill I learnt what a bitch my clutch is and got the hang of it. If your a moron, then yeah have fun and see ya later

Manual LS1 is fun, it puts a smile on my face everytime I get into the car. You cant have the same fun in a shift kitted auto. Sure the shifts are harder but you still arent controlling the transmission.

If you want a manual, a Calais is out. If your after a VX the only models that came with manuals and V8 were the execs and the SS's (and the HSV's).

Ahh, not entirely correct. In VIC, once your on your opens you dont need to have a manual license. You can drive whatever you like. I dont know how it is in SA.

I'm old and lazy so I'd say auto, but if you'd asked me when i was 18-25 then the answer would have been manual every time!!!!!!!!!

not controling the trans if an auto is rebuilt right it will have a manulised valve body this works best with shift kits if it is just a stocker auto with a kit then it's the same as using 1 2 3 D my vp has a trick when in drive just pull back on the stick slightly and it wont change the postion cuz its locked in drive but the gear drops back it's pretty cool
