Default Water in sump?? Td Gemini. Help PLZ!!

    Hey guys

Picked up a gemmy other day fellar said it was blown motor..

Got her home and started to investigate. Drained oil was full of water and oil. (Nasty mess) Started to clean radiator out (had bit of oil and shit in it) put hose in the top radiator pipe and then water started to come out sump plug hole.. Im thinking the head has crack in it?

Any ways took head of today cant see anything wrong with the head?? Block looks fine as well. Pistons and bores are all fine. Could the head still be stuffed or what could it be?

Could the block be rusted inside arround the bores or something?

Guy i got the car of said.. He was driving along temp got hot then car went bang.. Hrmm

Try running a straight edge across the surface of the head. If it's warped, and it probably will be because it's alloy, this will show where the warpage is.

Probably won't be worth shaving it though because of its age. Unless it's been maintained with the proper anti-corrosive coolant, it's bound to be corroded.

Most probably a hole in the timing cover. Some of the early gemini engines did not have timing chain tensioners so as the chain stretched it hit the timing cover and eventually wore through the timing chain cover. The timing chain cover can also corrode behind the water pump letting coolant flow onto the timing chain and into the sump.
