VS Gearbox..... getrag or T5? which one best?

hey, i'm lookin at gettin manual conversion in my VS SII auto. i would prefer the getrag but concerned on the price. can anyone quote me a price and tell me which gearbox i should get. thanks

all i seem to find is prices for t-5's ... too be honest there isn't much diffrence in them...appart from where they are made... i think getrag was german...or somethign eurpean... but yeah could explain why there expensive

T5, no contest.

Get the T5. The getrag costs far more to service and change the clutch in, on top of that the T5 was tried and tested at that point, the getrag wasnt. Also you will be able to find a T5 gearbox a lot easier and a lot cheaper than a getrag box.

also with the T5 you won't need to worry abot the hydro set up and associated issues (just a cable operated clutch). parts to fix the box are much cheaper too

i converted my vs auto to manual t5 and i havent had any problems and it is alot cheaper than a getrag

ok sweet. yea coz the getrag is newer so its more expensive. i was gonna get a t5 but had a thought bout the getrag, so yea, ill go the t5. thanks guys
