what kind of 5.0 block is it? vs or vt?

im picking up a vs 5.0 ute tomorrow, 1998 series 2 s-pac 5 speed.
my question is since all the vt's had the different 5.0 roller block, did that come into effect with the series 2 98 vs ute, or the after july 98 series 3?
just so i know what ive got! thanks dudes!

series 3 got the 179kw

Ring Holden with your engine number, they'll be able to tell you if it's the original that came with the car, or what it's out of originally. They'll probably ask you to quote the VIN aswell.
