Does it do the job you want it to?

When it does everything you want it to do and then more, then its too much

When your cruising down Chapel street and everyone is looking at you, then it's too loud.

Well, crank it up then . It will only be too loud until you rupture your ear drums. Then you won't know how it sounds.

Seriously mate, if it's too loud for you to comfortably listen to then it's too loud. Personally I'm sick of driving past people or watching cars go around with all the windows down with the system so loud it hurts my ears and I'm on the sidewalk, imagine what it would be like in the car...

Mate, car audio is VERY much a case of quality over quantity. 1, or 2 if you must, better quality subs will blow away 4 cheap ones in every aspect

My mate had a old lancer, and he broke all the weldings on the boot reinforcment frame (he had cardboard in between the boot and frame for awhile).. he still had to get a new boot.. i think thats when u can call it "too much"

It's VERY easy to go deaf, doesn't take many trips to loud music or many grinds on a angle grinder to do it in the long term. It's just not worth it, just to be cool

when your nose starts bleeding from the bass and your ears start expeling some sort of liquid its to loud and people will think you are a tool.

Exactly, our generation are going to see a deafness epidemic from all the noises we subject ourselves to. iPods, MP3 players, loud stereo's, excessively loud music at clubs. We are all damaging our ears permanently every day. Have to be careful what we expose our ears to, if we want to hear things in 40 years, or less.

IMO don't waste your money on a car sound system, they might make a lot of noise but that's about all they are. A metal box doesn't make for good acoustics, no matter what you do to it.

If you want good quality audio, spend your $$ on a good home audio system - it will leave any car system for dead & it won't weigh your car down

Yeah cover up the sound of the V6 with the silence, peace and serenity of nature and life.

Seriously don't be like every other wanker that has to drive everywhere with the stereo so loud that people in the next suburb can hear you.
