Hi all, just a quick question.
I have done plenty of tranny changes over the years but have never emptied the torque converter.
I have just emptied a converter but dont know if i need to re fill it before installing the tranny.
I would assume its ok to just re-install and fill the tranny and let it fill the converter but just want to check. It isnt my car and i wont get the oil until tomorrow and i want to get the car of my hoist asap.
Cheers Shane

u need fluid in it
otherwise KABOOOM if u remove any oil from moving parts its best to rpime it with new shit
dont need to fill it to the brim just till the cog on the inside is covered. switch it around a bit to fill the chamber
You don't need to refill it before installing it. You are correct in saying that it will refill when filling the trans. If you have a manual, fill the trans with the required amount of fluid that is stated for a dry fill. Or the capacity that is listed.
