Default Jacking up a lowered car

Might seem a bit dumb, but what do you guys do to jack your cars up when your car is lowered?

The other day I went to swap over some mags, but I couldn't physically get the jack to fit under my VT so I paid a tyre shop $20 to change them over for me!

We have two trolley jacks. On one of our cars you can't get it under the side it is so low, so I go in from just in front of the wheel at an angle and jack it up under the radius rod mount on the K frame.

not a stupid question.. i wedge a plank of wood, about 3-5 cms high i think? infront of the front wheel (which ever side u wanna jack up first) and slow roll to the point where ur wheel is sitting safely on it. the wood should be fat enough to support ur tyre. then go for ur life and make sure ur car is in park, handbrake on AND in gear if manual.

MAKE SURE THE WOOD IS THERE WHEN U LOWER IT BACK DOWN OR YOU WILL CRY!!!!!!!!!

Dude, how low is your car?? lol!

I could get my jack under my old VX and that was low.

But yeah... a trolley jack should sort you out... but make sure you get one that fits under the car.

My have had a HD one and we couldn't roll it under the VX. But I would have though getting the standard one under then would be easy enough.

Thanks guys, some good advice there. I'll probably go the wood idea next time.

My car isn't stupidly low, it's on SSL's. The problem is it didn't come with a standard tooth pick thin jack, but I own a decent size one (and that obviously doens't roll underneath).

    Cheers

mines on SSSL's and I have a small trolley jack too and it doesnt fit. I do the same trick as most of you guys by driving onto blocks of wood and then jacking it up

I've seen slimline trolley jacks for lowered cars but they have always been expensive.
The few times I've needed it (my car isn't low enough) I've just drived up onto blocks of wood

My ute wasn't stupidly low but the jack wasn't exactly a low-lying one.. I used to use the factory jack on one side first and then use the trolley jack as soon as there was clearance.

Try driving the car up on short planks of wood to raise the front or rear enough to allow a trolley jack to slide underneath dont forgot to replace the wood when lowering to allow the jack to be removed ????.

Well I definately know my car is low, because I just got defected on the way home from work. Anyone in Adelaide have some FE2 springs? I'm not having a good week.

This is my method. I didn't think my car was that low, but reading answers here it must be

Remove the front bar, then get up it up on ramps (or axle stands if that's your thing).

The rear of my VK was on the bump stops and our trolley jack still fit under just....only a $200 cheapy from Repco....oh and that's jacking it up by the diff, so unless u have IRS, the height of it never changes no matter how low ur springs are unless u change ur tyre size.
