    Default Defect

I got defected last night for eyebrow height, It says on the defect notice that the defect category is minor. does this mean they will only check the eyebrow height, or will it still be a full inspection?

    Cheers

Where is the inspection going to be held at? If its a police station, it will just be for that, if its regency, it will be a full inspection.

he said I had to go to regency for suspension. but last time I went to regency it was ticked as major on the defect notice, and I had the whole car checked. wouldn't minor mean just to check out the listed defects thought? or do you always get a full inspection when asked to go to regency?

    Cheers

I've never known anyone to 'not' get a full inspection at regency.

South Australia is different to every other state in regards to unroadworthy cars.

So this info is basically useless (the reason why he used the SA prefix in the thread title)

Not that I have been defected in many years, but my understanding is from previous discussions that when you go to Regency, it is a full inspection.

He probably just ticked the wrong box. Anything under the car is classed as major.

Yeah i would think a lowered car is a Major, I got done for tires and to low, and had to go for a full road worthy, this is VIC, i know its different.

Just a quick Q, What else is classed as a Major any1 know off the top of there head?

sa's dodgey with our cops on this, in my old car i had a dodgey cop defect it. screw up the papers, tick on the box that the inspection carried out was full station check (meaning he was claiming to be regency) and screwed up many other times on the form and just plain made stuff up.

Im the only person i've ever heard of who got a volvo defected.

Ended up having to go to a cop i trust who was baffled as to how this cop was tryna play it.

Oh and for these minor defects the note demanded i went to regency, which was his way of keeping my car off the road and all the screwups and lies werent enough to have them inspect it and remove it outside of regency and charge me the $300.

Had to call in a favour with a cop mate for him to carry out hte inspection and yeah, i didnt get a free ride im wasnt asking for one, had to clean up a few other things and get some other things up to scratch but i didnt have to get subjected to regency who would NEVER pass a car that easily.

I got into some trouble at my last job ended up being assaulted by a guy who was having a bad day decided to take it out on me, didnt hit him back, later he made some threats against me for him being fired, cops told me they couldnt do much about that, but decided they didnt like the guy so decided to ruin his day by defecting his car.

To quote the officer who said this off the record 'Was one of the easiest defects i've carried out, i didnt actually have to get creative with anything, he actually had 38 serious defects'
