this is my vs on 18's
its a good height not too rought but still looks good
Work ute? Don't bother. I am speaking from personal experience. Use your VR as your work shitter and buy a project car to play with. Trust me, you do not want to modify a work vehicle.. especially if you are in the building industry. I wish someone gave me the same advice around 5 years ago.
hitch up your trailer and load the back with what you would normally carry then measure the height at which it now sits , speak to someone like pedders and give them the ride height you wish to have and the loaded height you have they will recommend a spring height for you . consider air shocks or poly air bags for the times when extra load is to be carried ???
Care to explain why?
On topic: I don't see why it needs lowering, if you're just going for looks you could just stick a body kit on it, if you're going for handling and shit also, I wouldn't lower it too much because it's your work vehicle; It all depends on what exactly you're towing/caring and how often.
Decent car as a work ute is stupid. I dropped a T square down the side of my black VZ 3 months after I bought it (brand new) and the scratches were still there the day I sold it. I also lowered it which made it impossible to jump gutters (I nearly ripped the front bumper off several times). You also can't carry as much weight unless you fit poly-air bags. I also scratched the shit out of most of my wheels. Not to mention the massive amounts of dust that collected in there.
Now I have a Hiace for work. I run it up gutters wherever I need.. I can chuck shit in the back and not worry about it. I don't really care if it gets dirty or scratched.
As I said, I speak from experience.. I trashed my ute and for what? I should have kept my VL and bought a trailer instead of spending 65K on a VS and then a VZ.
