gday i am after a bit of help i have a v6 vy calais the last few days when i am doing over 80 kph and i hit the brakes my steering wheel get the wobbles as soon as i release the brakes it stops any ideas thanks
your brake rotors and warpped machine or replace them
they were only done 2000 kms a go with brand new parts
Yeah... new rotors can warp if they are not taken care off initially...
Does it pull to one side at all?
did you follow the bedding in instructions or just drive like normal ??? did the pads get replaced at the same time as the disc's ???
could also be radius rod (caster) bushes. If they haven't been replaced before they are probably on their last legs anyway. I changed mine and the increase in braking feel alone is immense.
You can do a roll by test to check if the bushes are shot

I had the same problem and it scared the s#$@ out of me when I hit the brakes at 100 ks.
Turns out that when I greased the ball joints some excess grease came into contact with one of the rotors and I had to remove them to get machined.
Machining is no drama and usually they can do it while U wait.
Not Just Brakes on Muller road Greenacres is the place to go
Good service good prices and no BS....
my car gets the wobbles on braking too. got new rotors and shal put them on. but it could be struts? apparently it has standar struts and shockers, but has SSL springs in the front, and on the hoistm, the struts wobbled. i dnt know too much about it lol.
have the disc's been dailed in to get the lowest run out ???
Had exackly the same problem on my VY... warped rotors..

most cars with split hubs and disc's when replacing the disc's its good to check for run out of the hub and rotor with a dial indicator and set to the lowest run out point . most just throw on the disc's and away they go hoping the rotors don't shake .... not so bad with new rotors but more so with used rotors
ahhhhh ok. still dnt really get it but il be sure to get that cheaked out![]()
sounds the same as my vs had my k frame was loose tightend it up and fixed it
Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel assembly. Remove brake caliper and wire aside. Attach dial indicator to rotor and axle hub assembly. Measure bearing play. Check bearing axial play by rocking hub assembly by hand. Maximum axial play should be 05 mm. If play exceeds specification, check and adjust lock nut torque or replace hub and bearing assembly.

ooooh just adjust wheel barings?! simple as pie![]()

better to measure the total run out off the disc face forget the uni-adapter .. unless running cross cut or slotted disc's.
