I could be totally wrong.. but don't some drag racing bodies require longer wheel studs for cars that run under a certain time..?

Aren't they just used for certain drag wheels, so they fit well.

i'm pretty sure you're right that it is an ANDRA requirement, i dunno how fast u have to be before they demand u put the longer studs on
