cam holding back power

i recently had a new cam installes in my 5 litre.

It runs fine when driving normal and sounds good.

before i got the cam and still now, If i put the pedal down the car will rev at like 5000rpm for 20 seconds before it kicks off.

This is really frustrating.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be? maybe i need my trans serviced, i know its due. Or could it be a tuning problem?

well.. if its revving and not going anywhere.. i'd be guessing your auto..

Dont think a service is going to fix much though..

yeah, i thought that too. it may be, but it drives well when driving sensibly

so its reach's 5000rpm then just revs heaps but doesn't change gear?

exactly. I have to back off on the throttle then itll change.

agreed its your auto but its going to most likely need more then just a service

turns out, the fuel pump was phucked.
