gday guys,
not sure if this is the right place to post ( as its not a commodore ) so if not my apologies. This has been driving us nuts going of all morning. My sisters car alarm keeps going of by itself with nobody around it.
To my knowledge it seems to be on the really hot days, and her car is parked in the street in the direct sunlight.
Just wondering what could be causing it and if there is an easy fix?
Dodgy / loose sensor or something?
thanks heaps guys.
( 94 honda civic )
I had a VS wagon like that. Slightly different though. A truck would only have to drive past it and it would set off the alarm. I got the motion sensor adjusted and all was good again.
if you dont mind me asking, how much did that set you back?
cheers
i just went through this with my alarm and it ended up being a micro switch in the drivers side actuator, change the actuator and good as gold.
it only played up on hot days too (above 25deg i worked out)
alright, thanks mate big help....
how did u find out which door/side it was on?? or just a guess?
cheers
i didnt work out which one it was the installers did (was under warranty)
but your alarm is going off its head, mine was unlocking by itself and wouldnt stay locked after you pressed the button so it could be something totally different.
you should speak to someone that installs your brand of alarm on a regular basis.
