i have a 1998 VT perfect condition lots of extras leather cruise control fe2 suspension all that and more and it has only dont 42000
How much roughly does anyone think i wiould get for it??
any feedback is great thanks![]()
11 year car with 42 000 km on the clock? Do you just drive it up and down the driveway every day?
In any case, show us some pics.
But dont expect anything over 12-13 for it though. Is it Exec/Calais/Berlina, etc? Mods?
I just had a quick look at Carsales and I cannot believe how overpriced VT Execs are... I wouldnt pay anymore than 5 grand for one but ones with low k's are apparently being sold around the 7 grand mark - mostly from dealers so they are usually more expensive than private sellers.
Judging by that I would guess you could get around the 8-9 grand mark.
its an auto Exec but with alot of options from factory
its stock as a rock
i dont have a camera atm so cant upload any pic
a person i know got a 2000 vx s with 36000 on the clock perfect condition went to a holden dealer and asked how much do they want for it and they took it off him for 20k that was a year ago
Bullshit
Which dealership was this?
I valued mine in the condition Ive kept and the mods at around 23 ( I nearly had to sell it at the start of the year :-().
The best price I got from 4 dealerships was 18500, and that was a Hyundai dealer.
Gotta get ahold of this dealer.

i have no idea what dealer it was all i knowis that it was in NSW some where cause he was moving to melbourne
but im deadset no bullshit
What a stupid Holden dealer.
VT's are the new VN-VR, P Plater car of choice. Youre just never going to be able to get rid of a VT Exec for an awesome price. I rekon you could chuck a 10-11 grand price tag on it, to leave a bit of haggling room and you would probally get 9 for it.
Just to put the prices into perspective:
VT Calais prices (100-150,000 km) are around 12 grand. Calais > Exec.
VY Exec with 100,000 on the clock are around 10-12 grand, much better cars, more advanced, problems solved etc.
VY Calais's with around 100,000 are around the 15-17 grand mark.
You have to look at those prices as well. Why would someone buy an 11 year old VT when theres a VY Exec for a similar price with slightly more K's.
Hell I just looked at VZ Execs for kicks.

There are more but you get the idea... VZ Execs with very reasonable K's for 13 grand.
When you start charing the around 12 grand you put your car into similar price ranges of much better cars. Im not trying to be a mean dick, but thats just how it is.
so i will be lucky to get 10 for the car??
i was hopeing to get abit more cause it is in perfect condition
But its still a VT Exec.
This is just my opinion though, I know personally if I saw a VT Exec with 50,000 km for 13k and saw a VZ Exec with 120,000 for 13-14k, I wouldn't look twice at the VT.
However people are stupid. You might very well find a person to buy it for 12-13, but its a matter of how long you are willing to wait to find that person.
I rekon 10 grand will be achievable if you wait a bit and knock back a few offers. 10 grand is still ...4 grand more than the average VT so youre doing well. I saw the other day a VN with some rediculously low mileage, It was being advertised for 4 grand, probally 3k more than your average VN.
I am so surprised how high some of those numbers are....
Ive seen VX SS with the LS1 going for $12k with under 150,000kms. No way would i pay $10k for a VT Exec... even if its done bugger all kms.
Will be interesting to see how much my Grandma's VTII Calais is worth.... Its done like 40,000kms and i dont think its ever exceeded 2000rpm. Car lives in the garage, serviced at holden with factory electric leather seats, 2 colour paintwork (White/Grey).
Probably one of the best kept VTs still on the road.
Yeah I grabbed my manual VX II SS for 12500 about 6 months ago.
And my mate grabbed a VZ Exec with 120 on the clock start of the year for 9500. And its in great nick.
So at 10, you're effectively pricing into the VZ range.
But look, stick it up on CarSales, give it a go, even on JC, you might find some die hard VT driver who wants a Vt and nothing else
aiight thanks heaps guys![]()
ill give a ring to a few places and might end up puting it on carsales or see if i know anyone that wants it other wise just might keep it
