    2. are there stock manual caprices?(havent seen any but im hoping)

    3. approximatly what should i be paying for one?

I can answer 2 of those.

    1:- buggered if i know
    2:- no
3:- I picked up mine about 2yrs ago for $7000 may be a bit much but came with full service history and was an extremely tidy car

    hope that helps

if you can get a series 3 defintely do that.

as they are the most recent and have the complete lip kit. revised rear bumper. updates steering wheel etc etc etc.

    2. as above only come out auto. but you can get them converted.

    3. 5 and upwards will usually get you a good one. but there are bargains out there. i got my vr caprice for 3.5 about 8 months ago

lol if i had 30 grand mate, i would.

so im looking at getting a 5 litre, yes i know green Ps blah blah blah im the devil and so on

i havent really looked at 304s before, what sort of thing should i be ooking out for when looking at caprice, engine, auto, diff?

concerning the series 3, ive heard baaaaad things about the last of the 304s(holden using up all the spare parts they had left before they went to the LS motor) any thoughts on this?

interior wise caprice is the top model out not the holden factory(not hsv) as far as i know. do they all have sunroof?

im pretty sure they were standard leather interior?

not all have sunroof. they later 304's are better and produce more power.

the 5 litre isnt necesarily that quick comparing to a 6. but it definitely has the kick in the back the 6 is missing.

and yes caprice is the top holden model interior and luxury wise.

hmmm something to look at not sure if i can get an exemption for an LS1 powered vehicle.

i dont really like velour, feels iratating(i know im weird) so ill looking for one with leather interior(yes i know its harder to maintain)

i like the VS shape, dont mind the WH's though might have a look

    I just bought a 1995 Series One Holden Caprice (Silver On Grey), it's in great condition with only the odd blemish which you really don't notice. The vehicle I purchased has 131,000klms on it and I paid $6000 for it with new tyres, twelve months rego and full log books (private sale). The engine is the 3.8 ltre normally aspirated V6, the car gets a long nicely. I looked at a lot of vehicles , V8, V6 and supercharged V6, I went with the best condition and lower mileage vehicle (I didn't really notice much differance in acceleration between the different engines), there are a lot out there that have been mistreated and uncared for which are greatly over priced. I used what I could insure the vehicle for as a general guide for what to pay in conjunction with carsales value guide. Things I would look for if purchasing another Caprice on top of the usual things when looking for a secondhand car would be;

    - Is there any cracking around the strut towers (where the strut section is spot welded to the body of the car), has a strut brace been installed ?, it's not that expensive to repair but just a hassle to have the vehicle off the road for a week for the repair.
