Air Con Removal

hey, just a quick question, is it at all a benefit to the car to remove the air con? atm it doesn't work at all and look as if im up for some money to fix it etc, is it really worth all the mucking around to remove it off the car and will there be any gains whatsoever?

removing would would only gain -a little less weight and -a very hot summer car

i personally couldnt live without the a/c. was 43 degrees here today
