    Angry VZ Dropping Coolant

Hi, Has anyone else had problems with VZ losing coolant intermitently, have taken mine to Holden after losing almost all coolant over a period of time and overheating twice and they can't find anything even though I am still having to monitor level and top up continuously??? There seems to be no ryhme or reason as to when it loses it but I have actually seen it running down front of engine and then stop???

Radiator Cap and Water Hose probably need to be replaced.
Check the VZ Commodore Section, there's threads a plenty about this, common VZ problem.

it will be the gasket on your water pump or a casting plug. mine has the same intermintent problem but does not over heat.

Are you topping up with Coolant or Water?

Got white smoke coming from out the exhaust, especially on cold start? That could be a sign of blown gasket.

After topping up the coolant in my ute, then leaving it for a week in the garage over the Christmas period, the coolant was down at least a litre. I've never had problems with overheating though.

If your car has one of the earlier alloytecs, it may have a cooling system failure, because the engine in my car was replaced after it overheated in the hands of the previous owner. Get it looked at by your dealer, It may be minor.
