Hi, I have a T5 gearbox and was wondering if this problem could be fixed. When i hold the input shaft still, i am able to roatate the output significantly (maybe 5-10 degrees in 5th gear), or vice versa. there is a clank sound when one shaft catches up to the other shaft. This can be heard when driving the car when you jab at the throttle or take your foot off the throttle. There seems to be a lot of rotational slack and the clank noise comes from the front of the gearbox, not in the extension housing. Any ideas? Cheers.
sounds like the unijoints on the tailshaft, mine was doing the exact same thing when you jab the throttle like that so i went and got a change over tailshaft anf the problem disappeared.
