Hi, I'm currently changing all coolant hoses in my neighbour's crap box '90 Excel for her.![]()
Got me thinking though, how often do you fellow JC members change yours? The VY's got 110,000 on it now and although the hoses look fine, just wondering what sort of mileage you Guys have done between hose changes? Thanks.

Bump, the hoses are only very slightly swollen when hot/pressurised.

I would only change them if the old ones are starting to crack/soften, or if they have shaping springs inside them which are beginning to rust.
That said, hoses are cheap and there's no reason not to change them while they're out. Same as spark plugs really
The old hoses I removed from my HQ looked so damn old they could have passed as GM originals, and they still didn't leakThe lower hose came off with half the water pump neck rusted into the fibre of the rubber. That's how old they were!!
