hey guys,
need some help with a car i brought a couple of weeks back. the rear windscreen had some kind of self adhesive cover on it (inside the car) like a fly wire type but soft to keep the sun off, so i decided to pull it off as the car already has tinted windows and makes it very hard to see out of. now after removing it, there is a glue residue left on the windscreen, so what do i use to remove this? and what ever i use, will it hurt/damage the tint or is tint on the outside of the window? a mate suggested metho and water (diluted of course) and news paper but im worried the metho will eat into the tint?
i hope that makes sense.
cheers.

I Found citrus spray the best for trying to get rid of glue left from sticks, and iv used it on some plastics and does not seem to harm anything. I would stay away from the metho idea.
I used Inox on some residue left by a very hard to remove sticker advertising the brand of window tint on my car. It worked a treat, then i just cleaned the Inox off with CRC window cleaner.

WD40 and or CRC from a spray can works well .
well i tried hot soapy water as suggested and that didnt really work as the glue is really set on there pretty good. i like the idea of citrus or eucalyptus but i dont have any of that around at the moment so ill buy some tomorrow and see what happens. i didnt want to try wd40 or crc as i don't really like the idea of spraying that inside my car lol. ill have a look around tomorrow also to find some other window cleaners and that. is class cleaner ok for tinted windows?
thanx for the replys fellas.

Yes most glass cleaners are safe for tinted windows i use australian export glass cleaner on mine and it works pretty well for 3 bucks a can lol But read the labels and it should say wether it is safe or not
