its a 6.5lt 402 BB imported from america... havnt had a look inside the block yet

    is it 4 bolt mains?

strength wise? out of 10 , 10 being the best

to get 550rwhp.. any suggestions? (no boost!)

550rwhp N/A...that works out to about 740HP at the engine. Gonna need more cubes than that mate. My suggestion would be 540 cubes, good set of Dart or Merlin rectangle port heads, about 11-12:1 compression, big solid roller cam, Dart or Merlin single plain manifold, 1050 Dominator. That would probably get you somewhere near that sort of power...

Who said anything about Mopar? 540 Chev dude....If you can make 740 HP N/A out of a 402, good luck to you. That's nearly 2 HP per cube, thats a very tall order for a Naturally Aspirated engine. Most semi streetable well sorted N/A engines make about 1.5 HP per cube (hence why i suggested 540 cubes). 2 HP per cube is getting into boosted territory.

Sounds like you know best though....
