Need some feed back....A friend of mine has a VX SS 5.7 litre heavily modified and must say drives really well, Over the weekend he hit a speed hump and basically shattered the ceramic inside the cats, so what he did was guttered them and is still driving the car, sounds like crap, but at the same time will it damage the engine or in time affect its performance.
Less exhaust back pressure doesn't automatically mean more power.
It's quite possible that it can have other effects like excessive fuel use, poor exhaust scavenging, and driveability problems, all leading to less power and torque output from your engine.
