its a v6 .... azzfox thats what im looking for ... did do the conversion ur self and was the fly wheel shaged
Go check out the other thread you made, youve got more replies there
Yeah did it myself, by myself. Did it in stages over time because funds were short then so cant say how long it took.
The flywheel was fine, but its from a series 1 motor which makes it totally useless. Series 2 has a different bolt pattern and so does series 1 auto. So its basically rubbish without buying some adapter.
Those 6 bolt S1 man flywheels are hard to find. Put it on eBay. I just paid $100 for one from a wrecker, the only one that had one out of 4 a tried.
GEN 3, as AZZFOX stated, you will need an adapter $340 from Castlemane Rod Shop, comes with 6 bolts and spigot bush. You will also need a 6 bolt S1 flywheel for the Auto motor 6 bolt crank end, which is different from the manual 6 bolt. Also you will need 6 new flywheel bolts, as the auto ones are too short - $6 - $8 each from Holden Parts.
Those flywheels hard to find? Try finding a USED 8 bolt for under $300. Those 6 bolt ones are always on ebay for around $100 that never sell. On the other hand I have seen a used 8 bolt sell for nearly $400! Which is what I payed for a brand new aftermarket one with all new bolts and spigot bush.
EDIT: Speaking of, there are five 6 bolt V6 ones on ebay right now, and no 8 bolts lol
I guess that wreckers want everything we need to be rare then! That's business for you at the lower end of the market.
Not that I need one, but I know where to get brand new billet 8 bolt V6 flywheels for $550 posted. They include Ring Gear, Dowels and Counter-Weights for applicable models if required!
Wouldnt be from Marks 4wd Adaptors? Thats where I got mine from. Billet flywheel with dowels, bolts, spigot bush and spigot installation tool, but no ring gear because you bolt an auto flex onto the back of it that acts as the ring gear and retains engine balance.
If its not one of them flywheels I wouldnt mind knowing about these other ones.![]()
lol around and around we go
and no, factory flywheels are cast
Perhaps the the fact of using a flex plate bolted to a flywheel was the non factory thing the billet ones are not like when I compared them to "like factory"! I was not not talking about the finish!
Whoa, hold up. I have no idea what youre trying to get across, but all I did was give an answer to "I don't know if the factory ones are made from a billet".
On the other hand are you going to tell us where we can find these factory-style billet jobbies?![]()
