Default G-tech auto timer a bunch of crap?

so i have this g-tech tmer, and i have not really played with it yet, for one reason or another, but i was looking at the setup proceedure and thinking wat a "bunch of crap"

can someone explain to me something:

you enter your gross weight, so a the VK is 2700 pounds, then you set it to 0 degrees height, wait till it flashes, then you launch..

now from what i can gather it uses G forces to measure your acceleration and takes into account the vehicles weight to make an accurate measurement of the distance traveld via the amount of g-forces over a given period of time?

but really; it just measures how far the unit has tipped, i.e. you need to set it so that the mercury switch inside it reads that its flat, then whenever it is tipped it measure how far it is tipped in degrees, i.e. 3 degrees off 0 axis.

    my question is:

what measurement would it give if your rear springs/shocks were soft as hell and the back of the car squats? is this unit really accurate? sounds like a massive gimmick to me.

    It is pretty accurate.

I think your talking about pitch factor. They cant really tell you what pitch factor suits your car other than the common one they give you of 3deg i think.

You really have to set the unit properly at the drags.

I tuned mine in and it took me a few runs to get it right by changing the pitch factor.

Also remember that the weight is very important. I took my car over a weigh bridge to get the exact weight. Of course remember the drivers weight too.
