Short shifter for the chicks. Actually what I won't to know is can you still get those automatic shifter levers that look like a joystick? Really want one.....

I know we have them.. but I still fail to see the need for a DVD player in the front seat of a car? I can understand in the back for the kids, but in the front? Maybe it's beacuse I dont still live at home and can go and watch TV any time I like........
    ?

What head unit do you have? Is it possible to put the head unit firther into the dash? The Sony XAV-W1 i have i know i had to mount as far back as i can, and it clears the auto shifter by about 2mm when putting disks in.

Not sure about JVC's, but is there an option that lets you adust the angle of the screen when fully open? You'll probably onlt need to change it to one back which wont stop the disc coming out. Alternatively because your changing discs while parked (which is where your problem is) just throw it down to reverse when you want to change the disc, let it close again and put it back in park. If your driving and want to change disc (DISC not DVD :P) you'll be fine.

Other alternative..... manual conversion AFAIK Auto shortening isn't common so it's hard to find, unless you do it yourself.

The spacing on the VY/VZ radio is double din. You shouldn't have any clearance issues.

Ive had mates that have done this without any issues, maybe the unit u have requires more room for the screen to flip out.

I fairly highly doubt you can make the std shifter shorter & ive never heard of any company that does do a short shifter. Then again why would u install a short shifter for any Auto, theres no need!

hsvpunk, DVD players are much better than you think :P Most of them support DVD MP3 discs. You can put a shit load of music on them :P You could put Disturbed and Rise Against's discography on one DVD 4 times! :P Think about how much music that is. And then it's a DVD player when your bored waiting for someone who said pick them up at 9 and they dont come out until 10 or so :P
