Moving/Relocating ID Plates...?

Hey guys and girls,

Just wondering if anyone was aware whether you can LEGALLY relocate the ID tages in you engine bay?

Now, I know it sounds dodgey, but its not, really..!

In the VH, I'm detailing the engine bay, and will be putting VK-VN washer/overflow bottles in there - but thats over the top of where they are now - from factory.

So, wondering if I can move them across the engine bay onto the firewall where the VK-VN's have them?
And then polish or chrome them.

They look to be only normal 'pop rivits' but I don't want to do it , then have the hassle later on if someone notices its not where they usually go in the VH's.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Your right it would loo a bit dodgy to anyone selling the car, im not sure on the legal-side but perhaps take photos of before and after with a good quality camera so you can show anyone your selling the car to that it is the same tag and explain why you moved them?

Yeah, thats what I was thinking... Could be seen as a bit dogey, lol. I will be taking pic's for sure, so will be sure to get some close up's of where they are at the moment.

Would the RTA be the place to ask?

The reason I thought it would be ok is, if it were in a front end smash and had the drivers side inner guard replaced they'd have to be removed/replaced by the panel shop... So whats the difference between that, and me moving them? lol.
