hi everyone. im painting some plasting pieces on a car and also im painting all my motorbike fairings and tank. i want a gloss black finish. but i dont know if i should use a gloss block spray can or to use a matte black can and then use clear over it. any tips or ideas on what would come out better?
Use gloss black spray, then over coat with clear, better finish, and more durable.

yup, a good clean with grease and wax remover does wonders!
spray with gloss then go straight to clear, onl each coat to go tacky, dont wait for the gloss to completely dry other wise the gloss wont stick real well and it will peal after a few months
after your spray it, wait for it to dry realy hard for a couple of days, the wet rub with 2000 grit sand paper, then give a real good cut and polish, will come up like a mirror,
but make sure your prep is 100%, finish your primer/filler off with 1200 grit wet rub, then wipe with wax and grease remover,
oh and a 1000 light coats is better then one thick one
well i primed it, i painted the gloss black. then the clear over it. when it dryed it was pretty rough. so in a small patch where its not visible i sanded it smooth. but its come out kinda dull and not shinny. have i stuffed up along the way?
nope just polish it up
what grit paper did yiou use???
and as said give it a good polish
well the little but that i sanded i used 1200 but im gonna get some 2000 and do the plastics with that and see how i go, does it haveto be wet? well its shinny at the moment and its not sanded but it is very orange pealy. will it come out smooth? also what do i polish with. i dont have an electric polisher, will it still be ok by hand?
i dont really paint much so im not to sure what to expect
