Noob with some questions

My engine is out of my v6 VS at the moment so I thought I may as well do some work to it. Where can I get some good cheap roller rockers and a new water pump? And is there anything else I should be doing while the engine is out?

Could always try ebay for something cheap. Ella Terra does roller rockers might want to check there as well.

I'd probably be rebuilding it with all decent brand stuff, or at least a mild cam.. but only things i could do on the cheap.

Do the rear main seal while you have it out. Holden recommend you change the alloy seal housing as well but it's not mandantory to do so.There are 2 water pumps for the VS V6. The early one is cheaper than the later one (your engine # determines the correct pump). Genuine ones have come down in price so shop around on that one first.

hmmm interested to see what answers would come up as i plan on having the motor outta mine in 2 weeks, im gettin gaskets n stuff replaced at the same time, maybe u should look into that?

sorry to steal thread... noob question myself... went to look at some parts on yella terra but trying to find parts for my motor is abit hard.... chose holden then they have a pull down thing with a heap of different motor models v6 165 / 179 and blue red etc... what im wanting to know is what motor is the VR apart from 3.8l v6... any help be great.
