V8 and V8 Auto shifters

Hey everyone

I have a dual cab hilux with a VS 5 litre and auto in it.

I currently have a B&M shifter but want to replace it with a standard commodore unit.

Are the shifters the same whether it is a V8 or V6?

I was also thinking of running a newer model commodore shifter just for the better looks of it, will this cause any problems?

think it all comes down to the shifters 'throw'. its all connected with rods anyway so if you get the right length rods and drill a hole in the right spot of the shifter for the throw any shifter work fine. just gotta measure from the pivot point down the shaft to check the throw.

Yeh i thought that would be the case. Im just not really into commodores so i thought id ask.
