Default Best GPS aval atm for <$300

One of my gifts for my 21st was a Navman c60... not such a great prezzie as soon as i got it someone mentioned i had one for a week and took it back cos of how crap it was, and now i have $200 towards a gps.

i've been pinching a mates navman s50 for a while which is a pretty damn solid unit, bluetooth, sd card slot, pretty acurate maps, the only thing it doesnt have is speed or live traffic updates.

most of the under $300 units i can find on the market have mostly terrible reviews or dont have half the features of the s50 which is a three year old unit.

Anyone able to recomend a gps within a reasonable price range that has memory stick slot, bluetooth (preferably live traffic update), and is a pretty solid unit?

all of the ones of these i've been seeing at supercheap and autobahn look nice but the reviews are pretty shocking and they all seem to be beaten by the s50, i'd go buy an s50 if they werent so slow... but they arent even on the market anymore.

I have a Navman MY50T and it cost me 250 bucks. It came with 3 years free updates which is half the reason I bought it. It's an awesome unit and my only gripe is that it always beeps when there is a change of speed zone. It's not a bad thing except for when you are in a 60 zone changing to a 100 zone sometimes it thinks you are going the opposite way and it feels the need to warn you.

I use a Mio but it an old piece of crap. I think it enjoys taking the longest possible route anywhere.

I got my ex girlfriend a tomtom about a year and a half ago, she loves it (as did I) and still uses it to this day. It cost around $600 tho, so maybe just save your cash untill you can get a better one.
Sorry that this doesn't really answer you question
