spare a thought for the person behind the counter if you ever fill up the car then decide to give the console op a mouthful about petrol prices. just thought this would be a good place to point out they have nothing to do with the cost of petrol so save them the ear bashing!!! (i work a console - youd be amazed the number of people who verbally abuse me then dont care to listen when i offer them the complaints line of the ACCC)

I know what u mean there mate! i've gotten to know my bloke pretty well well, as its just about the only place i go for fuel. and also i work for Land Rover in parts. At least twice a day i get d*ckheads winging about the high prices (eg. Genuine DVD player setup/assembly = $10 000 + labour). we all know the prices are usually a joke, but nothing pisses me off more than when i'm blamed for high prices that are made by poms in the bloody UK!

Every wednesday the price at my local jumps 20c/l and steadily comes back to it's lowest the following tuesday.. Last wednesday it was 122.9c/l, now it's back to 113.9.

I don't think that petrol prices are ever going to significantly drop. The sad thing is that the days of cheap easily found oil are nearing the end. I wont start screaming that the sky is going to fall (last time I checked I am not Greenpeace).

And in many ways the likes of the toyota prius are not much good. Yes they can get 1000km per tank but so can the new VW's. One of the reasons (I think) that GM has taken a big hit in the states is that noone in their right minds would buy a SUV at the moment.

I am going to try my hand at biodiesel (think homebrew for transport fuel). Sadly that means getting rid of my VN but I think with prices the way they are going I'd rather give my money to the local fish and chip shop than the middle east/south amercia.

Hey LMC, you won't believe this.. One of my mates up there has an XF ute that i've been wanting to buy off him for ages... I am flying up there this weekend, and he drove to Coffs today to buy some window tint, and was going to ask me for an offer on Friday!
Here's the crunch... He hit a big roo on the way home this arvo and it will more than likely be written off!!! :b:

It's $1.22-9 here today. And hey ozute - did that XF ute end up being written or or was it repairable?
