Default eBay HID upgrades & Xenon Globes

    Hey all,
I am changing my light globes before winter as my current ones are very old and terrible. I have already ordered 7 LED ultra white parkers, and i'm wondering aobut upgrading to HID's or if some 4500k or 6000k Xenon globes will give me a good enough light.

HID Xenon Headlight Conversion Kit Car 9004 HIGH/LOW - eBay Headlights, Lights, Indicators, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 03-Mar-10 21:28:34 AEDST)
That is the HID Kit i was looking at - would it be any good or is it crap?

Opti Blue Xenon Headlight Globes - H1 - 100W - eBay Headlights, Lights, Indicators, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 03-Mar-10 19:04:42 AEDST)
    Or this style of globe?

I'm just after some more white/blue than yellow head light globes that will throw good light.

    Thanks

If you really want good lights I would spend your money and get some Phillips, not the chinese crap they sell on ebay, they will last forever and offer heaps better build quality. Someone is sure to jump up and down on the forum and say they are illegal to fit into a car which did not have HIDs as original, which is true but as long as you aim your headlights down a tiny bit you should be fine... However I have heard that the HIDs can ruin your headlights cos they burn so hot, don't quote me on that one but.

Even look at some performance Halogen globes... I have Phillips X-treme power lights in my VZ, they are whiter than yellow but definitely not blueish, have a look at the Phillips range or Osram...IMO they are the best.

HID's don't run as hot as standard globes.

philips +80% are a good option, they do them in h3 globes now as well.

$85 or there abouts. Yes they are brighter. How they do it I am not sure but it isn't by doubling voltage or whichever.

Cheers for that mate, i was talking to my brother who put phillips globes in his last car, he didnt think they made a big improvement. Seeing as though i'm very broke, i might opt for the eBay globes just to give them a shot

You will be disappointed. Save your money. Just because one Phillips globe model wasn't good for your brother doesn't mean the Xtream Vision won't help you.

Edit: Just looked at the models you have posted. The optiblues will not work. 100W will destroy your wiring fairly quickly. Also they are not HID they are just a blue bulb.

Sorry mate should have been more specific, they are the ones that he got. How are you sure that these globes will be worse than standard?
    Cheers.

    Don't buy HID's

i have HID's and although the vision is amazing and i love it, everyone else will hate you.

Every 2nd car flashes me on single lane roads (one lane goes one way another lane goes other way) because they think i'm high beaming them, not that i give two $$$$s because cops have never said anything, but expect for everyone to think you're always on high beam, even though you're not..

I got mine from PowerBulbs - Car Bulbs, Headlight Bulbs, Xenon Bulbs from Philips and Osram, including Philips Xtreme Power and Osram NightBreaker globes. for half the price. only around $40 odd bucks and you don't pay a cent for shipping AND get a free set of parkers...lol I sound like a spammer now.
Takes about a week to get to here, just put another set in my mums VR and has made a massive improvement. IMO blue lights look abit cheap...and rice
