    Default Pressure Washing Engine Bay?

Hi all, i have never pressure washed my engine bay before, but it is starting to get very dirty and i would like to give it a good wash. Could someone please just identify to me the best way to go about pressure washing my engine, like any places i should try and avoid getting water on, things like that, because i don't know much about engines really.
A photo outlining the things i should avoid getting wet would be great.

    Cheers

try using brake clean and a air blower less harmful then a pressure washer or try degrease and a brush and some hot water from a bucket .

I've never pressure washed my engines, just wash them as I would like the rest of the car, then chamois. Never do it while the engine is warm as this can cause condensation in electrics, do while the engine is totally cold. Even though I use just normal garden hose pressure, I still put plastic bags over TP sensor, fuse/relay box, coil packs, etc and alternator if you want to. And cover any other electrical sensors if you're not sure.
Maybe overkill, but I've never had a problem.
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'

Using brake cleaner on components apart from brakes is not advised. There's a reason it's called brake cleaner. Corrodes the shit out of metal and is highly flamable (long story).

The main problem with high pressure water clean is not the high pressure water, but the fool applying it to everything without thinking of the plactic plugs getting broken and dislodged, as well as not letting everything dry propperly!

Ive washed my engine bay in my vn every week for about 5 years with just a garden hose. and i have had my vx ss for about 5 months and washed the engine bay every week and have not had any problems either. I just make sure engine is cool, then either i use degreaser or just soapy water, then hose off. I wash and hose off while car is running. And i dont bother about covering anything. then i take it for a drive to warm up and dry everything, then its all good.
Australia. Love it or leave it
