$2,000 and a Holden 5L

Pretty simple question.

My knowledge of car modification is very limited, so I figured I'd ask people who are more educated about the subject.

I have a 96 VS Statesman with a 5L, I'm wondering what kind of mods I should go for to get a bit more power from it, my budget is limited though I've only got around 2k at the moment. Not interested in anything visual/audio I purely want more power.

Anyone have any ideas for me?
