It's not practical under the bonnet and personally I prefer a bag then a huge plastic box.

Neithers a bag that is supposed to be fire retardant. They're not. (not that I'd know.......)
My ex-missus had an Astra with the silly bag, and it was crap (and caught fire) and $180 bucks is a rip.
(Btw: you could just get a smaller battery if size is the issue)
Why can't he put the battery in the boot?
Or in the car? My VN has the battery in a box behind where the passenger seat will be.

But then you will have to fork out more for a special battery. I had the same problem with the R33 with it's battery mounted in the boot. Has to be properly sealed etc.

Don't know how expensive it would be but what about something out of sheet metal to cover it? Leave the terminals exposed obviously. Will bring it up a bit. Also can paint it what ever colour you want too.
