Monaro Front Bar and Headlights Question.

Ok so my current SS bar has undergone some cosmetic changes with a driveway. So I was going to replace it with a Monaro front bar.

Was all well and good, was about to go and buy one however someone brought up the issue of headlights.

Now someone has suggested that... my current lights probally wont fit

I was actually discussing the body shape of monaros versus vx/vt with a mate the other day... While cruising in aforementioned monaro. Let me emphasise that I was in a monaro. Sexy.

Anywho, I'm going to bank that no it won't fit. I've seen monaro front bars on VT's before though, so I would hazard a guess that it's possible. I'll try to dig up the thread for you, but no promises. Otherwise... Maybe time for some mad fiber glassing skills?

EDIT: Also... Two nose lions? Or are there no holes behind the bonet lion and you'd just shave it?

Yeah, 99% sure VT headlights will fit, just pull them apart and paint the surround satin black - 'SS' style FTW, and VX ones deffo won't fit because of the tear drop shape they have.

I would get rid of the bonet Lion one way or another.

Something like that would probally fit and look half decent. Just tossing up the price. Either way im looking at 400 for bar + 200-300 for lights + 300ish for paint. Think I might just buy a new SS bar.

As zuessy said, VX SS wont fit. VT lights will fit.

Thought so, in that case, some nice second handies would fit the bill indeed

VT Berlina Headlights, L+R, kind of look like monaro ones, especially if you do the 'SS' mod to them, painting the surrounds black.

$50 - Headlights + $10 - satin black = A cheaper way to do things

Or even troll through Ebay for some secondhand monaro ones/whatever ones you're after

Yeah I have a friend who priced everything at Holden for me and the lights cost about the same as the bar new and Im looking at a pair on ebay and they arent much better.

This bloke has a full GTO kit on a VX - And there aren't any teardrop headlights in the pictures so It looks like the VT's are the go.
Go the Monaro bar, you know you want to, It'll definitely be more unique! A mildly damaged SS bar is something you can live with for a little while.
