Commodore/Falcon which way does the engine spin?

ok really random but I dont know. Was just told by my lecturer that you can't put a falcon gearbox into a commodore because the engines spin the opposite way... is this true? anyone know?

Looking from the front they do, but from the rear they spin anti clockwise.

I'd say the lecturer needs to go back to school.
